Active Protection Against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing

At Monty Global Payments, the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing is a strategic priority. We share the concern of authorities and society regarding illicit financial flows, and we are firmly committed to complying with current regulations to detect and act against these activities.

By upholding the law, we protect both our clients and the integrity of the global financial system.

Regulatory framework

We strictly comply with Law 10/2010 of April 28, on the Prevention of Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, which incorporates Directive 2005/60/EC of the European Parliament and Council. This legislation defines the obligations that regulated entities must meet according to the nature of their activities. By complying with the law, we help safeguard our clients and preserve the integrity of the financial system worldwide.

Prevention and Control System

We have a dedicated Audit and Compliance Department specializing in detecting suspicious transactions and reporting them to the relevant authorities. Our comprehensive prevention framework includes:

Customer identification and acceptance policy: We apply strict procedures to verify our clients’ identities and assess their risk profiles.

Risk-Based Approach: Clients are classified according to their risk level, and appropriate due diligence measures are applied accordingly.

Prohibition of anonymous accounts: Anonymous payment accounts are strictly prohibited.

Detection and analysis of suspicious transactions: We use advanced systems to identify and analyze unusual activities.

Ongoing training: Continuous internal training and communication programs ensure that our employees remain up to date.

Internal and external audits: Periodic reviews help maintain compliance with the highest standards.

Advanced technological tools: We use cutting-edge technology to detect fraud and manage alerts efficiently.

Robust Organizational Structure: Our structure ensures the effective implementation of internal policies and regulatory requirements at all levels.

Communication with Authorities

When suspicious activity is detected, we immediately report it to the Executive Service of the Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Monetary Offenses (SEPBLAC), in strict compliance with confidentiality requirements. Our Procedures Manual, which is continuously updated, contains all control policies and procedures.
